“In that day—“‘Sing about a fruitful vineyard:”
– Isaiah 27:2
Hi James and Ellen,
A foreboding gray sky is muting today’s daybreak. A gray sky means that fog, haze or indistinguishable clouds are hiding the breaking of dawn. A gray sky keeps the sun from waking up a new day. A gray sky hides the vibrant colors of a sunrise. A gray sky obscures heavens’ depths. Isaiah 27 is a gray sky to your grandpaa. The study notes that your grandpaa printed out at the same time that he printed out the Bible chapter that is on the small slip of paper that he had your grandmaa draw out last evening out of the 1¾ ounce size Pringles container in which each of the slips of paper with a Bible chapter where put in over nine years ago nor has a web search helped your grandpaa with when ‘that day’ is that is mentioned four times in this book and chapter. Whenever ‘that day’ took place or is going to take place, God – as God the Father, used or is going to use His fierce and powerful sword to punish and slay the crawling Leviathan serpent, the coiled Leviathan serpent and the monster of the sea. A leviathan is a symbol of an evil nation – such as the country of Egypt, that God – as God the Father, had or has in His crosshairs to exact serious turmoil. ‘That day’ was or will be a day when God – as God the Father, threshed or will thresh His people group of guys and gals who were or who are now living in the land area that is between the Euphrates River at the northern border and the Wadi of Egypt – which is probably the Wadi el-Arish, that is at the southern border of the land area that God – as God the Father, gave to His specially chosen guys and gals – the Israelite people group guys and gals, to always to have to live in as their very own land if . . . to separate them from the Gentile guys, gals and kids who were or who will be living in the same region. On ‘that day’ God’s specially chosen guys and gals who had been or who will be perishing in the country of Assyria and who had been or who will be exiled to the country of Egypt will return to the holy mountain – which is the city of Jerusalem, to worship God in His temple that was or will be in the city of Jerusalem. Verse 2 has this to say about ‘that day’, “In that day—“‘Sing about a fruitful vineyard:”
‘That day’ began or will begin the atonement that God – as God the Father, has for His specially chosen guys and gals and the judgments that He has against all the enemies of His specially chosen guys and gals. It also was or will be ‘that day’ when God – as God the Father, had or when He will have Jacob (the Israelite people group) take root, bud, blossom and fill all the world with fruit. God – as God the Father, through God – as God the Spirit, using one of His prophet spokesman – who was Isaiah, promised His specially chosen guys and gals – using a vineyard as a metaphor to describe how He saw them, telling them that He will guard them day and night, that He will not be angry with them and that He will be a refuge for them so that they might have peace through Him. At the same time, ‘that day’ per what God – as God the Father, through God – as God the Spirit, told His specially chosen guys and gals – using Isaiah, is when He will strike down and kill their enemies – using a fierce blast of wind out of the east to do it plus He said that He will crush their enemy’s altar stones as if the stones were made of chalk, that He will raze their Asherah poles, that He will not leave any of their incense altars intact, that they will find all the fortified enemy cities completely desolate, abandoned and forsaken and that He – as their Maker/Creator, will not have any compassion or show any favor on any of their enemies.
‘That day’ per what God – as God the Father, through God – as God the Spirit, breathed on Isaiah to write, has or will begin with a great trumpet sound. As the sun burns off a morning fog or haze or when low morning clouds begin to rise, a fathomless world hidden by different shades of blue will being to emerge. That is what was taking place as your grandpaa began to . . . the sky to your grandpaa right now seems to have a dirty tinge to it. There are some commentary notes that suggest that ‘that day’ is the day when the Israelite people group guys and gals – God’s specially chosen guys and gals, were captured and taken away as exiles by the Babylonian army. Your grandpaa wonders if ‘that day’ may just be another day that has yet to occur. Guys, gals and kids who are living in Israel today are lukewarm towards God. Guys, gals and kids who were living in Israel over 2,700 or 2,500 years ago had become such an abomination to God that He had a couple of enemy nations or people groups do a number on His specially chosen guys and gals. Per this book and chapter, God – as God the Father, is not at the place where He is ready to set them on fire because . . . your grandpaa sees in this book and chapter a parallel to the country in which you live. The United States of America was settled by Christ-follower guys and gals whose paramount concern was that God be the center of any decision that is made. As what happened with God’s specially chosen guys and gals when they acquiesced to the norms of guys and gals who were living among them who had no interest at all in changing their worship paradigm to only worshipping God and who had no desire at all in changing their lifestyles to live out the ten laws that God – as God the Father, had mandated against doing evil – which had God – as God the Father, first letting His specially chosen guys and gals stumble into traps being set by Satan through . . . and then . . ., this is what has and is taking place here in the country in which you live. Today seems to be getting brighter and clearer but . . .
