“He erected the pillars at the front of the temple, one to the south and one to the north. The one to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.”
– 2 Chronicles 3:17

Hi James and Ellen,

What do you think life was like 3,000 years ago for a kid whose dad and ma lived in the city of Jerusalem? Do you think that a kid 3,000 years ago – whose dad and ma lived in the city of Jerusalem, had friends who he or she played with on the streets of the city of Jerusalem? Where do you think that a kid 3,000 years ago – whose dad and ma lived in the city of Jerusalem, would go to on outings with his and her dad and ma? Israel – which included the city of Jerusalem, had become 3,000 years ago a world power. Solomon – 3,000 years ago, had been position as king over the Israelite people group guys and gals who lived in the land of Israel. David was Solomon’s dad. During the 40 years that David ruled as the positioned king over the Israelite people group guys and gals, David amassed a vast amount of gold, silver, bronze and precious stones. When David died, Solomon became the third positioned king to rule over God’s specially chosen guys and gals – who were the Israelite people group guys and gals. Before David died, David told Solomon that while he was king over the Israelite people group guys and gals, that he wanted him to use the wealth that he accrued while he was king, to build a magnificent, ornate temple in the city of Jerusalem for the presence of God – as God the Father.

God – as God the Father, about 900 years earlier told an old guy – whose name was Abraham, before Abraham had a kid, that He was specifically singling out Abraham and the family clan that would have him and his wife Sarah be its patriarch and matriarch blessed numerically as His specially chosen guys and gals. Each of the twelve boys who were born to Abraham’s grandkid Jacob became the patriarch of a tribal clan that would be included in the Israelite people group of guys and gals. Abraham was living with his wife Sarah in a land area that was known as Canaan when God – as God the Father, told Abraham that he and Sarah would one day become dad and ma to a kid. Even though they were very old, Abraham and Sarah did have a kid born to them. Abraham and Sarah named their kid Isaac. Isaac was a young kid when God – as God the Father, told Abraham to go the Moriah region with Isaac. God – as God the Father, then told Abraham that when he arrives in the Moriah region that he is to build an altar on which he was to tie his kid to sacrifice him. Just as Abraham was about to sacrifice his kid Isaac on the altar that God – as God the Father, had told him to build in the Moriah region, God – as God the Father, sent an angel to tell Abraham to use the ram that had gotten snagged in some nearby briars as the sacrifice that He had told Abraham to make. The city of Jerusalem was founded in the Moriah region area. Solomon began in the spring of 966 B.C. – in the second month in the fourth year of his reign as king over the Israelite people groups guys and gal – on a hill in the city of Jerusalem – known as Mount Moriah, the building of a splendid, elaborate temple for the presence for God – as God the Father. David told Solomon that he wanted him to build a temple to God on this spot as this is where God – as God the Father, had appeared to him. Araunah the Jebusite had made this site his threshing floor. The chronicler – in 2 Chronicles 3, noted that the temple that Solomon saw to being built in the city of Jerusalem was 60 cubits or 90 feet long and 20 cubits or 30 feet wide, the portico – which was at the front to the temple, was 20 cubits or 30 feet high and wide and the Most Holy Place – which was at the back of the temple, was 20 cubits or 30 feet high and wide. Solomon saw to it that the temple that he was having constructed in the city of Jerusalem for the presence of God – as God the Father – which purportedly was the most eye-pleasing, striking structure to ever be built, was overlaid with pure gold, that the temple’s main hall was paneled with pine and covered with fine gold, decorated with palm trees and chain designs, that the temple was adorned with precious stones and that the nails that were used in the temple were overlaid with fine gold. Solomon had a pair of cherubim – with each cherubim having a wingspan of 10 cubits or 15 feet wide, sculptured and covered with pure gold before he had the cherubim placed in the Most Holy Place facing the temple’s main hall. To separate the temple’s main hall from the Most Holy Place, Solomon had a thick curtain made using blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen. The two pillars that Solomon saw to the making of – to tower at the front of the magnificent temple that he saw to the building of for the presence of God – as God the Father, had interwoven chains at the top of the pillars with 100 pomegranates attached to the chains. Per the chronicler in verse 17, Solomon named the two pillars, “He erected the pillars at the front on the temple, one to the south and one to the north. The one to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.”

Your grandpaa thinks that if you were living in the city of Jerusalem years ago, you probably would have been curious about what your king was building for the presence of God – as God the Father. Your grandpaa thinks that the city of Jerusalem 3,000 years ago was a very happy and peaceful city because of what Solomon was doing for God – as God the Father. Instead of building a beautiful edifice today to go to worship God, God – as God the Son, has – per your request, buried Himself forever in your heart. As God – as God the Son, lives forever in your heart, God – as God the Spirit, is perfecting you as being temples radiating the presence of God – as God the Son, in you.
