Would you like to become famous? Why do you think that a guy, gal or kid would want to become famous? What does a guy, gal or kid have to do to become famous? The Samuel Books author says in 2 Samuel 8 that David became famous. God led Samuel to anoint David to be the second king over the Israelite people group guys and gals. Samual was God’s planet Earth tenured spokesman at this time. During his time as the Israelite people group’s positioned king, David used intimidating force to secure the borders of Canaan’s land area. The land of Canaan was the land that God gave to the Israelite people group guys and gals to always to have to live in as their very own land if . . . after David subdued the Philistine people group guys, David took over from the Philistine people group guys control of the Metheg Ammah site. After David overwhelmed the Moabite people group guys, David subjected the Moabite people group guys to be measured using a measured length of cord. After David told the captured Moabite people group guys to lie on the ground head to toe, David used the length of cord to decide who would die and who would live. David put to death the Moabite people group guys who needed to be measured using two lengths of cord while the Moabite people group guys who were measured using just one length of cord were spared by David from being put to death. After David defeated Hadadezer – who was the king of Zobah, David hamstrung all but 100 of the horses that were used by Hadadezer for his chariots. When David defeated Hadadezer and Hadadezer’s army, David ended up with 1,000 of Hadadezer’s chariots, 7,000 of Hadadezer’s charioteers and 20,000 of Hadadezer’s foot soldiers. After David defeated the Aramean people group’s army after it left the city of Damascus to help Hadadezer fight David and after David killed 22,000 of the Aramean people group soldiers, the Aramean people group guys and gals became subject to having to pay tribute to David. After David defeated Hadadezer, David took the gold shields that had been used by Hadadezer’s officers and he brought these shields to the city of Jerusalem along with all the other gold, silver and bronze articles that were plundered from the people groups that were defeated by David and his Israelite people group army. Once David was back in the city of Jerusalem with all the gold, silver and bronze loot, David dedicated all the captured booty to God. David would become infamous when he defeated the Edomite people group’s army in the Valley of Salt– killing 18,000 Edomite people group guys. Would you like to end up with the same kind of fame or infamy that David had because he . . .
Do you think that killing thousands and thousands of neighboring people group guys was a good thing for David to do? What do you think would have happened to the Israelite people group guys and gals if David had not been their king for 40 years and had not killed as many guys from the Israelite people group’s neighboring people groups as he did? Do you think that God held David accountable for killing so many guys in his lifetime? If you could ask Samuel, Samuel would tell you ‘the LORD gave David victory wherever he went’. Samuel also recorded for posterity what is now verse 15, “David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right for all his people.” How do you feel about God sanctioning through David the killing of thousands and thousands of non-Israelite guys from neighboring people groups and nations of guys and gals? What do you think that God’s thoughts were about the thousands and thousands of non-Israelite people group guys who wanted to kill His specially chosen guys and gals? Do you think that what took place 3,000 or so years ago – when David did what he did when he arbitrarily killed or subdued and subjected thousands and thousands of non-Israelite people group guys, can also take place on planet Earth today? Even though what David did was always directed by God to defend the land of Israel and to strengthen the borders of the land of Isreal to insure security and prosperity for the Israelite people group guys and gals who were living in the land that God gave them to always to have to live in as their very own land if . . . your grandpaa knows that God will never ask the universal Christ-follower body’s guys to go on a killing spree to purge all non-Christ-follower guys from planet Earth. Your grandpaa at the same knows that God will always use non-Christ-follower guys as a catalyst for purging and strengthening the evangelical Christ-follower body. Because it is not in the character of being a Christ-follower to defend through a violent response his or her faith in the suffering and death of an incarnate guy, Christ-follower guys and gals over the past almost 2,000 years have let themselves be killed by guys and gals whose beliefs have been perverted by minion spirits who are under Satan’s dictating control.
God 3,000 years or so ago established traction for the Israelite people group guys and gals to grow into a large, formidable nation. God protected the Israelite people group nation of guys and gals – His specially chosen guys and gals, by having David kill their enemy neighbors. God 2,000 years or so ago underpinned a movement that had His specially elected guys and gals relocate throughout planet Earth. God then unleashed His adopted Christ-follower kids to multiply by arranging for enemy non-Christ-follower guys to kill them. David killed to bolster and increase a nation of Israelite people group guys and gals. Jesus died to raise up a Christ-follower family of guys, gals and kids.
