“Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.”
~ Psalm 2:11

Hi James and Ellen,

What are your thoughts regarding the instability that now exists in the Middle East? What kind of unrest do you think existed in the Middle East about 3,000 years ago? David was king over God’s specially chosen guys and gals – the Israelite people group guys and gals, about 3,000 years ago. About 3,000 years ago, a psalm song was scribed that was to be used for the coronation of Davidic kings. This psalm song – which is Psalm 2, is frequently quoted in the New Testament. The words of this psalm song over the years have taken on different inflections. It may have been in the light of the covenant that God – as God the Father, had ongoing with David that a psalm song writer – who possibly may have been David himself, scribed this psalm song. David had spent a good amount of his life warring against the enemies of God’s specially chosen guys and gals. This psalm song author begins his psalm song with a rhetoric question about God’s take on the unrelenting turmoil that His specially chosen guys and gals were always having to deal with in the land area that He had given them to always to have to live in as their very own land if . . . this psalm song author wonders why neighboring nations or people groups of guys and gals were always conspiring against his people group of guys and gals – the Israelite people group guys and gals. This psalm song author knew that any plotting against his people group of guys and gals would be done in vain. This psalm song author knew that it was just not going to happen that a nation or an enemy people group of guys would be to overrun the land area that God had given to His specially chosen guys and gals to always to have to live in as their very own land unless . . . God’s specially chosen guys and gals about 3,000 years ago were constantly facing nations and/or people groups kings and rulers who when they conspired against God’s specially chosen guys and gals to overthrow them were actually conspiring against God. What do you think per this psalm song writer would be the response of God to the rebellious hearts of kings and rulers of the nations and people groups of guy and gals who wanted His specially chosen guys and gals – the Israelite people group guys and gals, totally annihilated? Per this psalm song writer, God knowingly laughs at the proud ploys, persistently scoffs at the arrogant actions and angrily rebukes the supercilious schemes of the enemies of His specially chosen guys and gals.

The Messianic import of this psalm song’s words would in later years be highlighted by prophetic judgments against the house of David and by God’s announcement to redeem in the future His specially chosen guys and gals through His exalted Son who would be born from David’s family roots. The words of this psalm song proclaim the blessedness of all the guys, gals and kids who acknowledge the Lordship of God – as God the Father, when they take refuge in Him – as God the Son, at the precise moment when they make the decision of faith to accept Him as their Lord and Savior. This psalm song begins by pointing to the triumphant reign of an Israelite people group king but as time unfolds, this psalm song goes to pointing to the triumphant reign of God – as God the Son. The words of this psalm song tells the kings and rulers of enemy nations and people group guys and gals that His specially chosen guys and gals will one day become the inheritance and possession of His specially chosen guys and gals and that His specially chosen guys and gals are going to one day rule over them with an iron scepter and that they are going to dash them to pieces like broken pottery. The warning words of this psalm song to the enemy kings and rulers of His specially chosen guys and gals are that they are to be wise because if they are not wise and do not do exactly what is said in verse 11 for them to do, “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.” that they would face an angry God Who will . . . your grandpaa sometimes wonders what God is going to do with the guys and gals of enemy people groups of His specially chosen guys and gals – such as Hamas, which exists for one reason and that reason is to do whatever they can do to destabilize the region where God’s specially chosen guys and gals are living just as the Philistine people group guys and gals were doing about 3,000 years ago, and to do whatever they can do to totally obliterate the Israelite people group guys and gals just as the Philistine people group guys were trying to do about 3,000 years ago. Hamas – as a radical Palestinian splinter people group of guys and gals, is an offshoot of the Philistine people group guys and gals. The underlining, internalized mantra for the Middle East Islamic terrorist activities was birthed over 3,000 years ago from an intense, environmentally conditioned hatred of God’s specially chosen guys and gals – the Israelite people group guys and gals.

Your grandpaa wrote in his last James and Ellen that your grandmaa and grandpaa are God-sent messengers. Your grandpaa’s key verse in his last James and Ellen says that feet – because they are what carries God’s truths to His preordained places, are a blessed body part. One of the most vivid memories that your grandpaa has of being in Chochís, Bolivia and going to Enrique Klava’s small farm was seeing a translucent yellow, green and black marked butterfly softly settle on Enrique’s gnarled big toe that was jutting out of a crudely made sandal. The mental picture that your grandpaa still has of a beautiful butterfly momentarily resting on Enrique’s scarred big toe reminds your grandpaa that God expects him to do today to focus on His created beauty versus focusing on all the ugliness that is always taking place on planet Earth. Your grandpaa is thankful that God has the Middle East conflict in His hands.
