“This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord, I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
– Hebrews 8:10

Hi James and Ellen,

Are you okay with a change? Would you rather keep everything as is? What do you not like about having to make a change? How do you feel when you have to start a new school grade each school year? How do you think that you would feel if you would have to begin to live in a place that is away from your home? How do you handle another kid – or a guy or gal, who tells you that you need to believe something different than what you believe? If you do not like changes and you have not had many changes that you have had to go through so far in your lives, you are very fortunate. Your dad had to make a lot of changes when he was a kid. Ask your dad how many different schools that he went to when he was a kid your age. Ask your dad how many different cities or towns that he lived in when he was a kid your age. Ask your dad how often he had to change what he believed when he was a kid your age. To change to another school is not a decision that you have the choice to make – it is a decision that is made by your dad together with your ma. To move to another house is not a decision that you have the choice to make – it is a decision that is made by your dad together with your ma. To accept a belief paradigm is a decision that you have already made or that you will make – it is not a decision that your dad together with your ma will make for you. What would happen to you if you never went to school? There are kids who now live on planet Earth who will for one reason or another never go to school or if they do go to school, they will only go to school for the few years that their country’s government mandates that they have to go to school. What would happen to you if you never live in a house? There are kids who now live on planet Earth who will for one reason or another never live in the security of a home that has a dad and a ma. What would happen to you if you never unconditionally accept the belief paradigm that is in Jesus Christ? There are kids – and guys and gals, who now live on planet Earth who will for one reason or another never unreservedly accept Jesus Christ having become the new high priest replacing the Levi tribal clan high priests who offered up animal sacrifices on planet Earth for God’s specially chosen guys and gals and Who now sits at the right hand of where God – as God the Father, is seated on a majestic throne in heaven.

The Hebrews Book author – in Hebrews 8, wrote down what God – as God the Spirit, breathed on him to write about the old and new covenants. Even though Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on a cross was an instant substitute for a lamb to ever have to again be killed and offered as a burnt offering for the sins of the Israelite people group guys and gals – who were God’s specially chosen guys and gals, the Levitical Law or the Mosaic covenant – which once mandated the types of offerings that God – as God the Father, expected to be made to Him and how and when these offerings were to be made, would continue to have a significant place in the lives of God’s specially chosen guys and gals. When God – as God the Father, introduced the Levitical Law or the Mosaic covenant to His specially chosen guys and gals over 3500 years ago, the Levitical Law or the Mosaic covenant was a completely new belief paradigm for the Israelite people guys and gals. Before leaving Egypt on would become an arduous 40 year exodus to the land of Canaan – the land area that God was giving to His specially chosen guys and gals to always to have to live in as their very own land, the Israelite people group’s belief paradigm was influenced by the Egyptian people group’s belief norms – which included the worshipping of idols. God – as God the Father, for about 1500 years, encouraged, insisted and mandated His specially chosen guys and gals to faithfully honor and to always obey what He established through the Levitical Law or the Mosaic covenant. After about 1500 years of constantly attempting to persuade, animate, and cajole His specially chosen guys and gals to fulfill the directives in the Levitical Law or the Mosaic covenant, God sent His only Son – Jesus Christ, to present to all guys, gals and kids who were living and who would live on planet Earth a superior covenant that would make Him the only mediator of the old covenant and which would offer to any guy, gal or kid who became a Christ-follower the best promise for the future.

Verse 10 presents the new covenant that God – as God the Father, made with His specially chosen guys and gals and which spills over onto His specially elected guys, gals and kids, “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord, I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” God’s new covenant – which He had His Son – Jesus Christ, die to implement, uses the Levitical Law or the Mosaic covenant life principles to enable His specially chosen and elected guys, gals and kids to delight in doing His will. God – as God the Father, in His new covenant – which He had His Son – Jesus Christ, die to replace animal sacrifices, establishes the right for His specially chosen and elected guys, gals and kids to have an intimate relationship with Him, it removes totally the excuse of having a sinful ignorance of what God – as God the Father, has done through His Son – Who is God – as God the Son – Who is Jesus Christ, and it definitely assures a guy, gal or kid that through believing in what took place when God – as God the Son – Who is Jesus Christ, died is an eternal reality. It is your decision to believe or not to believe in what Jesus Christ did for you.
