2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians is a follow-up letter. Paul, an itinerant apostle/missionary penned 2 Corinthians in 55 A.D.
1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians is the first canonized letter that Paul penned to the emergent Christ-follower community that was in the city of Corinth – in the country of Greece, that he was instrumental in initiating on his second missionary journey.
Romans
Romans is an apologetic for Christ-followers. Paul begins his Romans Letter by establishing a mindset among his readers – who were both Jew and Gentile Christ-followers, that the world that they are living in is a lost world.
Acts
Acts is the second letter that Luke penned and couriered to a Christ-follower colleague – whose name was Theophilus. Luke was one of Paul’s faithful friends.
John
John is the eyewitness chronicling of Jesus – an incarnate man’s life and ministry impact that He had while He was on planet Earth and the impact that this man’s death and resurrection has for a mortals to live forever in heaven.
Luke
Luke was penned by a doctor whose name was Luke. Around 70 A.D., used penning a letter to Theophilus – who had become a close acquaintance, to historically detail the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
Mark
Mark is Jesus’ life and ministry story. The Mark Book was scribed by John Mark. John Mark’s scribed account of Jesus’ life and ministry began to be distributed sometime between 50 A.D. and 70 A.D.
Matthew
Matthew – who was one of Jesus’ twelve disciples, wrote a memoir anthology. Matthew’s completed book probably began to be circulated sometime between 60 A.D. and 70 A.D.
Malachi
Malachi concludes the Bible’s Old Testament’s canonized books. Malachi – having been scribed sometime between 430 B.C. and 400 B.C., is the last accepted prophetic text.
Zechariah
Zechariah is a two part, postexile book. The Zechariah Book’s author was a priest whose name was Zechariah.
Haggai
Haggai is the edited notes of four or five pithy, succinct messages. The four or five terse, laconic communiqués that Haggai conveyed to the Israelites who were living in the land of Judah was sent to them in 520 B.C.
Zephaniah
Zephaniah is a powerful pronouncement against and a persuasive promise for God’s specially chosen people – the Israelite people, who were living in the land of Judah.
Habakkuk
Habakkuk was a perplexed prophet who scribed in a short missive his burdened thoughts that would become an entry in the Biblical canon as one of the minor prophet books.
Nahum
Nahum is two poems. An Elkoshite family clan prophet by the name of Nahum scribed the ‘book’ that was named after him sometime between 663 B.C. and 612 B.C.
Micah
Micah is the edited ruminations of a self-identified prophet whose name means ‘who is like Yahweh’. The resulting communiqués were compiled and became the Micah Book.
Jonah
Jonah is a seminal event in Jonah’s life that was scribed to leave as a true account for future generations from what he heard about Jonah.
Obadiah
Obadiah was scribed to indict the country of Edom. The Obadiah ‘Book’ was named after the minor prophet who scribed this one chapter denunciation.
Amos
Amos is a doomsday prophetic transcript. Amos articulated his dire warnings over 2,760 years ago.
